Concert DVD Recording

My current "off season" project is recording 2 concerts for DVD release.

Concert 1 is Ted Nugent this Friday
Concert 2 is Anita Baker next Saturday.

Traditionally I farm out the multitrack audio recording to a reputable company.
I have used David Hewitt's Remote Recording Services most often and one really good experience with Tim Powell's Metro Mobile Recording.

Ted Nugent was dropped on us one week prior to the show date and American Mobile was the only company available to come and record, however Ted and Company have decided to "Do It Yourself" and do the multitrack record using their own equipment. Personally I dont have a problem with it, other than more than 80 percent of shows who have done this generally end up crashing and burning. Not only do they not have a decent "Day of Show Mix" on the video tapes, but now they have a multitrack recording that drifts out of sync within 3- 5 minutes.

Anita Baker is still getting bids for the multitrack recording and I plan to get offers from all 4 companies in my side bar links. It will be interesting to compare bid prices / reputation and who the artist actually chooses. I plan to report a round up here. I will not include costs but a high medium low Vs experience and truck etc...
